Podcasting first got its start in 2003! That feels like forever ago. And while many shows have been around since then, and especially in the last 5-10 years, I discovered a love for podcasting in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I spent time listening to some of my favorite shows, and together with my sister and friend, decided to start one of my own! Thus, The Prolific Hub Podcast (formerly known as 3tingz Podcast) was born. While the show has seen many evolutions over the years, it remains a passion project and hobby that I've continued. So, here are 5 reasons why I started a podcast:
Fun Hobby: Podcasting is a hobby for me! It’s an opportunity for me to use my intellect, which is one of my favorite things to do, and it’s mentally stimulating for me to be in thoughtful conversation with people I admire and look up to.
Creative Outlet: For a long time, I didn’t feel like I was creative and podcasting has changed that for me. Podcasting has been an opportunity to explore different aspects of my creativity by running the behind the scenes, and final production of each episode.
Providing Value: What excited me most about listing to podcasts, are the valuable life takeaways I gather from each episode. I deeply enjoy my ability to teach and share information and provide value by podcasting.
Passion Project: Podcasting has taught me that no one will treat your passion the way you can and will treat it. Hosting a show has taught me to decide how much of myself I'm willing to give to my passions. This realization has been invaluable.
Adaptability: Now, I didn't quite start the show for "adaptability," but it's definitely a muscle that podcasting has taught me to strengthen. With running a podcast comes inevitable change -- from systems, to people, to topics and more. Being flexible and adaptable comes with the territory.
You can find The Prolific Hub Podcast wherever you get your podcasts! The show in its current form celebrates all things life, and the authentic pursuit of conscious, creative entrepreneurship. I hope you tune in!
