Upgrading My Office!

Updated: May 5

A white wall with a single clock and a white office desk with a plant on top in a white planter and a white lamp with gold finishes

My office has seen many changes over the years! It's been an office/gym, an office/guest room, a room for family members with changing living circumstances and more. Now, it's my office (again) and a podcast studio!

I've really enjoyed decorating and setting up the space to my liking. It's served as an area for traditional work and creative pursuits, and now also serves as an in-home podcast studio for The Prolific Hub Podcast.

Check out my TikTok video for the office side of the room! Some key items include:

  • TechOrbits Electric Standing Desk Frame 60 x 24 Inch Tabletop - Motorized Workstation Two Leg Stand Up Desk with Memory Settings and Telescopic Sit Stand Height Adjustment (Black Frame/Black Top) (2020)

  • Unikito Printer Stand with Storage, Lateral Office Filing Cabinets with Socket and USB Charging Port, File Cabinet with Large Printer Stand, Shredder Stand Rack with Wheels for Home Office

  • Tajsoon Industrial Bookcase, Ladder Shelf, 5-Tier Wood Wall Mounted Bookshelf with Stable Metal Frame, Open Display Rack, Storage Shelves for Bedroom, Home Office, Collection, Plant Flower, Black

As for the podcast half -- that's probably been the most fun to create!

I spent a bunch of time thinking through how I wanted everything to look, and how much of a project I wanted to take on. For example, I'd considered getting some paneling and painting to create the backdrop, but opted for less work with a cloth one!

I'm not great with live plants, but I knew I wanted the look and feel of having plants around, so I opted for faux options that felt right. I'd purchased a set of chairs from HomeGoods that I intended to use for the podcast, and got a small rug to help with audio quality in the room, and keep my feet comfortable while recording. Throw in some shelves and spotlights, and you have it!

Some noteworthy items for the podcast half of the room include:

If you're decorating your in-home office, and/or setting up an in-home podcast studio, I hope you have a ton of fun and really make the space your own.

Good luck!
